NBA NEC MATTERS ARISING: NEC Ratifies Elections, 750 Million Naira For 2018 AGC, As Paul Usoro SAN Receives Certificate

The National Executive Committee of the NBA has on Sunday, being 26th Day of August, 2018.

Unanimously ratified the timing of the just concluded elections.

The motion was moved by Solomon Umoh, SAN and seconded by Ferdinand Orbih, Esq. Dated this 26th Day of August, 2018.

Surprisingly there was no objection for the call for ratification.

The NBA NEC also ratified the budget of 750million naira for the Annual Conference of 2018.

Mr. Odum the Campaign Director, and a group representative of Authur Obi Okafor, SAN, requested that a post audit be done before Thursday being the swearing-in date.

The President and the Chairman of the Electoral Committee (ECNBA) emphasized that it is not for the purpose of validation of the result of the Election but to comply with the electoral guidelines.

The President requested for parties to accept the result of the Election for several reasons one of which is that the electoral Committee members have integrity.

Thereafter the elected members were presented with certificate of return by the chairman of the Electoral Committee.

Paul Usoro, SAN, who emerged as the winner in the just-concluded NBA election that was held on 18th & 19th August 2018 also received from the Electoral Committee Chairman, Prof Yadudu a Certificate of return.

The Constitution holds that for NEC ratification if there is any reason for holding the election beyond the date hence the ratification.

It was further stated that the this year’s AGC will be declared Open by the president of Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari today, Sunday in the evening while the President of Ghana and Vice President of Nigeria are expected to speak in the conference tomorrow being Monday.
